Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum
Los Angeles, CAHome to Olympic champions, baseball and football greats, and a World Cup, the famous LA Memorial Coliseum felt the thunder of NASCAR for the first time ever in 2022. A radical new idea, NASCAR created a .25 mile short track inside the famous sports facility outside of downtown Los Angeles.
Starting in 2022, NASCAR moved the season kickoff event, the Busch Light Clash moved from the traditional Daytona International Speedway to this all new track inside the LA Coliseum. An all new format was created as well, with single car qualifying, and short “heat” races to set the starting lineup for the race.
At just .25 miles in length this is the shortest track on the NASCAR circuit, and one of the most unique ones. Tight corners with little to no banking force the drivers to navigate the close quarters carefully, and find themselves battling others cars often.
