Located south of world-famous South Beach, Homestead-Miami Speedway opened in 1995 and featured its first NASCAR event that year. For seven years, the track hosted the last race of the NASCAR Xfinity Series season, until the Cup and Truck series joined in 2002. From 2002 to 2019, Homestead hosted the NASCAR season-finale race and crowned multiple NASCAR champions.
With a 1.5-mile layout, Homestead-Miami features a unique progressive banking, where the track increases in banking closer to the wall. This leads to drivers choosing to run right next to the wall to get the most speed out of the car. Currently, the track hosts one NASCAR race weekend, with the NASCAR Cup, Xfinity, and Truck Series all having races in the spring.
