Tad Geschickter along with his wife, Jodi, teamed up with former NBA player Brad Daugherty and Gordon Smith to form JTG Daugherty Racing, which began racing full-time in the Cup Series in 2009. Since then, they have earned two wins, one in 2014 and 2023. They began fielding two cars back in 2017 but cut back to just one car starting in 2022. The team won the Daytona 500 in 2023 with driver Ricky Stenhouse Jr.
